What is Micro-Botox?
You are probably thinking “what else can Botox be used for?” Botox, a neurotoxic protein, is not only used to help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, but it can also help with hyperhidrosis, migraines, and TMJ and/or Bruxism. Now you can add pore size reduction and smooth, flawless skin to the list of what this miracle drug can do.
Micro-botox, also known as mesobotox or intradermal Botox, is a treatment that works by targeting the erector pili muscle in addition to the oil and sweat glands. The Botox or Dysport is diluted more than “conventional” Botox and is injected superficially to temporarily weaken these glands and muscles. As a result, the skin becomes smoother, notably tighter, and has an airbrushed look to it. Because this treatment is performed more superficially, it has little effect on the muscles involved in facial expressions.
Pores will appear diminished when oil production decreases therefore resulting with a radiant complexion. Micro-Botox can still take up to two weeks to see full results just like conventional Botox. A fractional, non ablative laser, such as the 1540, as well as chemical peels can also help reduce pore size
