This wonderful patient traveled to our practice from another state to undergo her cosmetic rhinoplasty. She had a range of complaints that had bothered her for years and she had done detailed research on rhinoplasty before making her choice to proceed with Dr. Leong’s practice. These pictures were taken 11 months after her surgery.
Frontal:
The patient was very please with the refinement to her nasal tip with great improvement in the “boxy” appearance of her tip. After the surgery the bridge of her nose is more slender with elegant brow-tip aesthetic lines. Brow-tip aesthetic lines are imaginary lines that sweep gently from the patients brow, along the sides of her nose, down to the nasal tip.
Frontal (Smiling):
On this smiling view you can see one of the improvements that was very important to the patient. While nobody’s nose is totally straight, this patient was self-conscious because the tip of her nose leaned a bit to her left when she smiled. As you can see, the straightness of her nose was greatly improved after the surgery, especially when she smiles.
Left Lateral:
The most obvious change in this lateral view is the reduction of the “bump” on her dorsum. However, there are more subtle changes that enhance the harmony of the nose in the context of her facial features. You’ll note that the tip of the nose is slightly de-projected (the tip of the nose brought closer to the face) and rotated (the tip of the nose turned very slightly upwards).
Left Oblique
The oblique view is a good way to look at the nose in the context of the face. Rhinoplasty surgeons often aim for the nose not to be a distraction to the other beautiful aspects of the face. The after picture presents a nose that is elegant and feminine and sits comfortably in the context of the patients face.
