Restylane® Defyne is a new and highly innovative dermal filler that can be used in a complementary fashion with a range of other fillers. The use of dermal fillers has evolved considerably over the last 10 years. No longer is the same type of filler used across all locations of the face. Our understanding of facial anatomy and facial movement has improved to the point that we now understand that different fillers, with subtly different properties, are best employed in the various areas of the face.
While Restylane® Defyne has been FDA-approved for the use of nasolabial folds, Dr. Leong has found that Restylane® Defyne can be particularly effective in the mid-face region. It is critically important for your plastic surgeon to customize their use of fillers not only for each individual’s anatomy, but also to address the way in which each patient uses their face to uniquely express themselves.
When fillers are used in their correct combination and with an artistic touch, tremendous improvements in cosmetic appearance can be achieved, often eradicating or at least delaying the need for cosmetic surgery.
During Restylane® Defyne injections, will I experience any pain?
Dr. Leong is very mindful of his patients’ comfort level, and he has years of experience injecting fillers. He administers local anesthetic during treatment in our Pittsburgh, Wexford, Mt. Lebanon, Sewickley or Greensburg office to minimize pain and discomfort. Results are immediately visible, and patients are able to return back to work right away. Dr. Leong also injects dermal fillers only with microcannulas, as opposed to needles. This approach reduces the bruising and discomfort that can be associated with dermal fillers.
Will I bruise after treatment?
Bruising is a possibility and should be considered when scheduling your appointment. If you refrain from blood thinning agents (such as alcohol, ibuprofen, fish oil, Vitamin E, and Aspirin) a week before treatment, you can reduce your chances.
Also, Dr. Paul Leong injects the filler using blunt tip needles (microcannulas), which also minimizes the risk of bruising. However, given the chance of bruising, it is prudent to schedule your Restylane Defyne treatments at least several days in advance of any significant event.
What is the cost of Restylane® Defyne injections in Pittsburgh?
The pricing for Restylane® Defyne injections can vary across different regions of the United States and is influenced by the experience of the injector. Dr. Leong and his staff conduct thorough consultations to understand each patient's specific goals and needs. Following this assessment, Dr. Leong and his team will provide guidance on a tailored treatment plan and associated costs. For further inquiries, please contact our office at 412-621-FACE (3223).
